From my brain to yours

Little Self

If I could, I would be 14 forever. It was my favorite age. It’s right at the time when everything is new and exciting and life beyond high school seems unfathomable. I’ll admit there were some awkward moments around this time period as well as a bad hair cut or two (or three), but in retrospect, the life of innocence was blissful. They say that the best way to market to people is to advertise things that were popular when that age group was around 14. For example, if I wanted to evoke positive memories from women in my generation, Brittany Spears would be my go to gal. The pop craze was at its peak during my time, and any reference to the sort–even at a college dance party–will get everyone dancing and singing like they were teens again. The age of discovering boys, attending seven classes a day and having less homework then attending one class a day in college, eating lunch in a cafeteria and dreaming of driving a car seem long ago. Yes, I can do whatever I please, I can go to the bars, I can attend class or I can stay home and sleep, but I’d give it all back for the opportunity to live a day in the life of my 14 year old self one more time. How come we don’t realize how good we have it until we’re older? They always told me this would happen…
